Cards like Diners Club and American Express were almost exclusively the domain of the wealthy in 1960s Australia.
By 1973, a new card was on the horizon. Bankcard would be aimed at ordinary people, and ABC’s Jeff Watson wondered what measures banks were taking to avoid bad debt.
